ACTIVE, HEALTHY, CONNECTED COMMUNITIES
Move Utah is an active transportation community planning program operated by the Utah Department of Transportation. In collaboration with partner agencies, including Bike Utah, Department of Health, Department of Public Safety and Utah Highway Patrol, we engage and empower local communities to consider and embrace active transportation through planning, events, education and infrastructure development.
Active Transportation refers to human powered travel—usually walking and biking. Collaborating with our partners, we promote respect and safety on Utah’s roadways through education, encouragement and infrastructure development. This program and its partners support active transportation planning efforts by providing guidance, tools and resources that can assist communities in reaching their active transportation goals and visions. We aim to Keep Utah Moving by inspiring healthy, active and connected communities.
Whether you’re an advocate, civic leader, public employee or interested citizen, this site will help you understand the benefits that active transportation brings to communities and to the state of Utah. This site will provide resources you may need to jumpstart walking and bicycling initiatives specific to your community. The blog on this website will also spotlight what other communities are doing to improve active transportation events, community engagement, planning and projects.
